Who’s Who

The Revd Pamela Heazell
Vicar

My background is East Coast American with early growing up years spent in Montego Bay Jamaica. I am married to Gareth who is a retired teacher and we have four grown up children. We have been richly blessed with 8 grandchildren and enjoy our time spent with them. My working background is varied and I believe adds to what I can offer as an Ordained Priest in the church. I have experience as a Secretary having worked at Heffer’s Bookshop in Cambridge and a trained Cardiac Technician from Addenbrook’s and Papworth Hospitals. Using my medical background I worked as a House Mother in a boys’  boarding school in Scotland and later on worked in residential care for the elderly while my children were young. To embrace a whole different dimension on life, I trained as a Music librarian working at The Gramophone Music Magazine where my love of music was enhanced. During training for Ordination, I worked at Wesley Owen Christian Bookshop which enriched my faith and gave me grounding in customer respect and sensitivity.

As a Priest, I believe that God has called me to gather up the gifts of my life journey and to share my resources with those to whom I minister. I love working as a Priest by serving God with love and respect for others. I never get bored (!) and enjoy learning from so many gifted people with whom I come into contact.

Churchwarden

I came to the parish at the same time as Pamela, and have been an assistant organist/keyboard player and flautist as well as sound system guru for most of my time here, and member of choirs in other churches as well as serving on the PCC elsewhere as well as here at All Hallows.  Ever one to add to multi-tasking skills, I am very much the junior Churchwarden but hope to fulfill a role here in Greenford. Spare time interests include building a model railway in the vicarage, writing music, watching cricket and walking the Appalachian trail in the USA with Pamela, although at our present rate it will take several thousand years to complete this.

I have lived in the parish for the last 30 years and been a councillor,  for the Ward,  for 16 of those years. This included being Leader of the Council and Mayor of Ealing. I am now in my second stint as Church Warden. I am now retired from work which was in the insurance industry, mainly in the City,  but life seems even more hectic. I am and have been chairman of governors of Willow Tree Primary School in Northolt for the past 32 years and held various posts in North Greenford Residents Association, currently East Area Chairman. As a pastime, other than gardening and DIY, I am a season ticket holder at Fulham Football Club and spent the season travelling round Europe watching the club  from Vilnius in Latvia to the final in Hamburg, most of them with my two sons. My wife Rosemarie did moan a little bit last season as we were away so much but she still helps with the cleaning at church. Rosemarie and I also enjoy exploring the world from a cruise ship.
